Happy Stinkin Birthday

Hello friends,

It's a beautiful sunny Saturday morning here in Sydney and I really should be outside enjoying the weather but my copics are calling me!  Also my Create a Smile exclusive Sending Sunshine Kit finally arrived in the post yesterday!  So glad it is finally here, I have been waiting patiently for it for two whole weeks. Here's hoping I can complete at least one card this weekend!  But before I start playing with my goodies I would like to share the card I finally completed yesterday.

A few months ago I came across Gerda Steiner Designs, she has some fantastic digital and clear stamps.  If you get the chance you should definitely check out her shop - she has a few freebies in there too :)  I have been meaning to play along in her progressive challenge for the last couple of months but just haven't had the time.  This month, however, I couldn't resist purchasing the stinkin' cute image as....it's stinking cute!  I just had to play along!!  In true fashion I have linked up at the very last minute!

 Supplies:
Gerda Steiner Designs - Stinkin' Cute Skunk Digital Stamp
Clearly Besotted Stamps - A Little Sentimental
Hero Arts Rubber Stamp - Designer Woodgrain
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 14
MFT Die-namics - Fishtails Flags Layers Stax
WPlus9 - Sunshine Layers Die
AC Amy Tangerine - Rise and Shine 6x6 pad
Bazzill Vellum
Stampendous Embossing Powder - White
Flower Soft Ultra Fine - White
Doodlebug Sprinkles - Bumblebee
Glossy Accents

I wanted the card to have a fresh and spring feel to decided to use some yellow, which I matched up with some soft grey and vellum.  I ended up with a lot of layers on this card - six or seven if you include the image and sentiment - tonnes of dimension!

This super cute skunk was coloured in with copics and some flower soft was added to his head, tail and tummy.  I then fuzzy cut him out.
I mounted him onto a scrap of white woodgrain embossed vellum. The little green patch he is standing on is actually the perforated edging of one of the sheets in the rise and shine paper pad - I don't like to waste anything!

Cool Day Tags

Happy Friday Crafting Friends,

I hope everyone has had a good week. Today is the start of new challenge over at Winter Wonderland and the theme this week is Christmas Tags. It is sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs and they are offering the winner three digis :)

It has been ages since I have made any tags so I enjoyed this challenge.  I had great intentions last year to make tags for all my Christmas pressies but didn't even finish all my christmas cards!  So my plan this year is to make a few tags every month so I'll have a small stash of them come Christmas time....lets hope I can keep it up!

Here are my first two:
Supplies:
MFT Stamps - Cool Day
MFT Die-namics - Snow Drifts
MFT Die-namics - BP Tag Builder 1
Memory Box Stencils -Winter Tiny Snowflakes
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Broken China
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste - White
AC Wow Extra Fine Glitter - White
Ranger Liquid Pearls - White Opal
The Twinery - Lilac
Green Ribbon - from Stash
White Star Confetti - from stash

I recently managed to get my hands on Cool Day stamp set by MFT so just had to play with it. I absolutely adore Torico's images, they are so fun and cute.  I'm also a bit addicted to embossing paste and love my memory box snowflakes stencil, so it came out again.

Merry Monday Guest Designer!

Hi Crafting Friends,

Today I am honoured to be a Guest Designer over at Merry Monday - thanks ladies for having me :)

The theme for this week is: To create a card with newsprint on it.

I have to admit I found this theme very challenging, and was struggling for inspiration.  I searched through my stash and found some 12x12 papers from My Mind'e Eye Lost and Found Christmas Collection that had newsprint - whoopie!! This paper collection has a vintage feel....beautiful, but I have never made a vintage looking card before!  I was at a bit of a loss at what to do for my main image and then I found an accessory sheet from the Lost and Found Collection that had some awesome die-cuts..problem solved!

Supplies:
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
AC Christmas Glitter Cardstock - Bronze
AC Christmas Cardstock - Red
MME - Lost and Found Christmas Holly Paper
MME - Lost and Found Christmas Accessory Sheet
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Circles Large
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Classic Scallop Circles Large
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Holiday Shapes
Memento Ink - Toffee Crunch
Ribbons - from stash
Red Glitter - from Stash
Queen and Co Pearls - Chocolate Delight

I die-cut out a scallop with the newsprint paper and inked the edges with Memento toffee crunch ink. I added some extra red glitter to the sentiment die-cut and mounted it onto red card before mounting onto the scallop.

I lightly inked the edges of some Neenah desert storm cardstock with toffee crunch ink.  I took two ribbons from my stash - one brown and one tea-dyed red ribbon and layered one on top of the other and adhered them to the centre of my card.  I mounted the scalloped sentiment in the centre of the card.  To the ribbon I added two chocolate brown pearl drops.

To finish I die-cut three different sizes of star from bronze glitter paper and randomly glued them around the image.  I hope you like it.  I think it is one of the first cards I have made where there is no stamped image and I didn't do any colouring in!  Thankfully it didn't turn out too bad.

I would like this card into the following challenges:

Thanks for visiting and have a great day.
