HapBee Hello

Hi Friends,

I hope you are all well. Summer is well on its way here in Sydney, the days are getting longer and the temperature is rising! So for my DT card for Whimsie Doodles I decided a fresh summery card was in order.  It was time to colour up this adorable bee - I love it. This image is called 'Pollen for You' and can be found here.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Pollen for You
MFT Stamps - Label Maker Sentiments
Doodlebug Design Paper Pad - Sunkissed
MFT Die-namics - Label Tape
Taylored Expressions Dies - Build a Scene Rolling Clouds
MFT Die-namics - In and Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax
MFT Die-namics - Grassy Hills
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Tim Holtz Distress Glitter - Clear Rock Candy
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Ranger Glossy Accents
Daisy Embossing Folder

I coloured the image in with my copics and added some rock candy to the wings and some glossy accents to his nose. I then fuzzy cut the image out.  For the background scene I used some die-cut clouds as a template to sponge a cloudy sky.  I then die-cut a grassy hill from some grassy DP paper.  I created a white frame using two stitched rounded square dies, which I then mounted to frame the scene. I stamped the sentiment in black ink used the corresponding die to cut it out. I adhered this to the side of the frame.  I created an embossed white daisy background using a die I picked up in the dollar store. I mounted this to the card base and then mounted my frame on top.

All Things Fall

Hi There,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.  While we are very much well into spring over here in Oz, I have an autumn card to share with you today. That is because it is challenge time once again over at Whimsie Doodles.  Your theme is anything goes with an optional twist of 'All Things Fall'.

Here is the card I came up with - another super easy one to put together. I decided to leave the card sentiment free so it could be used for any particular occasion, however this image does come with its own punny sentiment - " You leaf me breathless'!

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Leaf Me
MFT Die-namics - Wonky Stitch Rectangle Stax
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Carta Bella Digital Paper - A Perfect Autumn
Ribbon from Stash

I coloured the image in with my copics and fuzzy cut it out. I then mounted it onto a die-cut of desert storm cardstock, which in turn I mounted a die-cut of white card. For the background some autumn tree paper was adhered to desert storm cardstock. I piece of green ribbon from my stash was then attached and the whole panel mounted onto the card base.

You're Fangtastic

Hi there,

As much as I don't celebrate Halloween, I can't help but make Halloween themed cards as there are so many awesome craft supplies out there.  I have to say, I love the Whimsie Doodles digi stamp set Little Boo's. It has super cute, versatile characters that are not scary at all.

I wanted to make a masculine card and had my husband in mind when I made this one. I chose the vampie image from the set, not because my hubby goes around in a cape, or sucking blood for that matter, but because I wanted to use the sentiment You're Fangtastic!!

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Little Boo's Vampie
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 13
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circle Stax
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Standard Circles Large
Mpress Nesting Dies - Frizzy Circle
Core'dinations Cardstock - Midnight
Digitalfield Digital Paper Pack - Halloween 2

I coloured the image in with my copics  and framed him using the dies listed away. I adhered some spider paper to some back card stock and then mounted my circular frame in the centre.  I used my computer for the sentiment and printed in red ink. I then die-cut it out using a die from blueprints 13. I mounted this onto some black card which, in turn, I mounted onto the spider paper.  I did this so the sentiment wasn't lost against the designer paper. A very quick and easy card, but I love how it came out!

Fruity Notes

Hi Friends,

I really ought to double check when I schedule a post. Once again it's been an epic fail and its taken three days for me to notice!  Note to self - remember to check you have clicked on the correct month - haha!

Anyway, I would like to share two small note cards I made using a very versatile stamp set from Whimsie Doodles called Sentiment-edibles. It comprises of six images with sentiments and can be found here.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp Set - Sentiment-edibles
MFT Die-namics - Pierced Square Stax
MFT Die-namics - Stitch Mini Scallop Square Stax
MFT Paper Pack - Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots
Doodlebug Design Paper pad - Kraft in Color - Color
Ribbon from Stash
Ranger Glossy Accents

I coloured the images in with my copics and used pierced square die to cut them out. I then layered them using foam tape onto designer paper before mounting onto white card cut using mini stitched scalloped square die. To one card I added a piece of ribbon, to the other some cardstock. I then mounted my images centrally onto the card. Easy peasy.

Thanks for popping by to take a look. Hope to see you again.

Let's Party

Hi there strangers,

It's been a long time, over two months in fact, since I last posted anything on my blog! I have a very good reason though - in the form of a wee baby girl who was born on the 1st of August. So as you can image life has been very busy and I haven't had any time at craft at all and feel very, very rusty!

Thankfully I managed to put together this card for our monthly challenge over at Whimsie Doodles.
We have just started up the challenge again after our summer break and have made a couple of changes.  We would really love it if more people played along so have decided to change the theme to 'Anything Goes with a Twist'. It is not compulsory to follow the twist but it does give you the chance of winning more digi's :) We have a nice easy twist to start with - 'Let's Party'.  Here is what I came up with:

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Party Stinker
Lawn Fawn Clear Stamps - Milo's ABC's
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 24
MFT Die-namics - Oval Shadows
Doodlebug Designs 6x6 Paper Pad - Hip Hip Hooray
Core'dinations Cardstock - Midnight
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Smoke

I love critters, so decided to use 'Party Stinker' for my party card, you can find him here in the shop. This card was very easy to put together, so there is not much to say about it apart from I love the bright colours and it was great to get the copics out once more!

You are Truly Amazing

Hi Friends,

Another epic fail with my Whimise Doodles DT post scheduling! So sorry, this post should have been up two days ago and its only now that I have noticed! Anyway better late than never!

This beautiful little angel has been sitting on my desk now for a couple of weeks waiting patiently to be coloured up.  I wanted to pair her with some equally sweet and girly papers and it took me a while to browse through my digital paper packs to find the right paper for her. This is an extremely old freebie digital paper pack than I got from Sweet Shoppe Designs and to my knowledge is no longer available :(

I coloured her up with my copics, added some glossy accents to the hearts and some glamour dust to her angel wings.  I paired her up with a sentiment from an old hero arts stamp set - I think it suits her perfectly!  It is rare that I use real stitching on my card and even rarer for me to use die-cut flowers so I am pleased with how this card has turned out.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - She Has Wings
Hero Arts Clear Design Stamps - Thinking of You Messages
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle Stax
Lil' Inker Designs - Stitched Rectangles
MFT Die-namics - Flower and Leaf Trio
MFT Die-namics - Branch with Leaves
Sweet Shoppe Designs Digital Paper - Studio Flergs Glitz
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Cupcake Assortment
DMC Thread - Ecru
The Ribbon Girl - Lace
DecoArt Glamour Dust - Crystal
Ranger Liquid Pearls - White Opal
Ranger Glossy Accents

Hi Mr Gnome

Hi Peeps,

I hope everyone is well. I have some Doodlelicious inspiration for you today in the form of a very cute gnome! I really love these gnomes so thought it was time to colour up another one.  This one is called Gnome Sayin' and comes with this sentiment.

 Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Gnome Sayin'?
Papertrey Ink Impression Plate - Canvas
MFT Die-namics - Basic Stitch Lines
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Large Circles
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Stitched Squares
Darice Embossing Folder - Polka Dots
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
MFT Paper Pack - Farm Fresh Gingham
Lawn Fawn Paper Pack - Let's Polka, Mon Amie
American Crafts Paper Pad - Stitched
Create a Smile Chipboard Shapes - Word Bubble Hi
Basic Grey Candy Buttons - Green
Ribbon and String from Stash

I like to have a good mix of general greeting cards in my stash and though this guy would be perfect for a note card.  My aim was to try and keep the colours relatively soft (for a change), with some neutral, but also to have lots of texture. I ended up using two different embossing folders, three types of patterned paper, as well as ribbon, string, enamel dots and chipboard!!  I do love how it came out though.

Happy Summer

Hi Friends and Happy Hump Day :)

It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Whimsie Doodles. This month our theme is "Life's a Beach', so we are looking for entries with anything beach/ocean themed.  The prize is FIVE whimsie doodles digi's of your choice, which is an awesome prize! Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for you, is that our entry numbers have been really low recently - which is a big shame, but that also means you have a much higher chance of winning - yipee! Remember you don't have to use a whimsie doodles image to enter either.

Here is my DT card:

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Diving Koale
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 13
MFT Die-namics - Tag Builder Blueprints 4
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax
Lawn Fawn Dies - Stitched Hillside Borders
Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder - Swiss Dots
Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad - Hip Hip Hooray
Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad - Sunkissed
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Ranger Glossy Accents
Blue Ribbon, Yellow Star Button, Twine - from stash

I used this awesome male digi called Diving Koale which you can find here. I coloured him up with my trusty copics and added some glossy accents to his googles before fuzzy cutting him out. I layered him onto a stitched rectangle. For the panel on the card base I used the reverse side of some embossed white cardstock, adhering some DP to the bottom half. I added some ribbon to the join line. I mounted the stitched rectangle onto the panel and then added a button star.  The sentiment was computer generated.

I hope you have a great day and have the chance to play along with us this month.

Happy Crafting

Ahoy!

Ahoy There!

Where, or where did May go? After being back on track with my card making in April, the whole of May has gone by, in the blink of an eye, and I have had absolutely no time to craft! I haven't even done any colouring and now it's June!

Thankfully I have had this awesome image coloured and sitting on my desk for over a month now and made some time to put a card together for my Whimsie Doodles Post.  I love anything nautical and red and blue are my two favourite colours, so I really enjoyed putting this card together. This image is called Life Saver and you can find her here.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Life Saver
MFT Stamps - DC Go Overboard
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Balck
MFT Die-namics - Basic Stitch Lines
Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad - Kraft in Color - Color
Red Spotted Paper - scrap from stash
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Blue Jean Assortment
Create a Smile Treats Enamels - Snow Dance
String

I coloured her with my copics and added some stitch lines around the edges. I framed the image with some navy card.  I cut two equal rectangles of designer paper, adhered them to generic navy card and mounted them onto my card base. I then added a piece of string down the card centre. I adhered my image onto the card.  I stamped ahoy in black ink onto scrap paper, cut it out and added some arrow accents before mounting it onto the card.  I finished my added some blue and white enamel dots.

Mother's Day Flowers

 Hi Friends,

Happy Mother's Day to all mummies out there.  Today I would like to share the card I made for mum's day which was inspired by both the The Card Concept and Fusion Card Challenge. When I saw the current Spring Flowers Challenge at the Card Concept I thought it was time to make another flower based card. However, I could not decide on what colour to go with until I saw the Sweet Orange Blossom Challenge at Fusion Cards. I loved the fresh orange flowers....so orange it was!

I used the beautiful, delicate flowers from the AlteNew Persian Motif stamp set for this card. I have owned this stamp set for about a year but this was the first time I have had the opportunity to ink it up! I love these flowers :)

I also thought it was time to try out another colouring medium so out came my Faber-Castell Polychromo pencils.  I was lucky enough to pick up the full set of 120 quite a few months ago on sale but, I'm afraid to say I have never really used them!  This card was a practice run for me.

I kept this card very simple with minimal embellishments as I wanted the flowers to have centre stage.

Supplies:
AlteNew Stamps - Perisan Motifs
Memento Ink - London Fog
MFT Die-namics - Tag Builder 4
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Fog
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Lime Sorbet 4mm
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Create a Smile Snowdance Mix
Zig Wink Of Stella Glitter Pen - Clear

The flowers were stamped on a piece of white cardstock using London Fog Ink and then coloured. I then added some clear wink of stella for some shimmer.  I generated the sentiment on the computer and printed it out in Grey.  I used a flag from MFT die-namics tag builder set to cut out the sentiment. I trimmed this and mounted it to the card using foam tape. I adhered a couple of sequins before mounting the image onto a SSS Fog cardstock card base.

Believe in Yourself

Hi Friends,

It's new release time once again over at Whimsie Doodles and this month Melyssa has created two stunning Abby Girl images and a unicorn set. Please pop over to the blog to have a look and to check out what my teamies have created with these images.

For my inspiration card I just had to play with the unicorns, they are so darn cute!

I decided to go with the leaping unicorn and had originally wanted to incorporate a rainbow into my design, because rainbows and unicorns go together - don't they?! However, my rainbow die is tiny and I wasn't feeling creative enough to make my own rainbow and decided just to use my cloud dies instead! Now this card is a bit out of my comfort zone in the sense that it is very girly and very pastel! I tend to go for bright strong colours so this was a change for me, and I'm not sure if I like it!

Supplies:
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 20
Taylored Expressions Dies - Build a Scene Rolling Clouds
Mama Elephant Dies - Basic Set
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Fog
Heidi Swapp paper Pad - Dreamy
Generic Glitter Sheets - White
Copic Multiliner - 0.3 Black
Hero Arts Ink - Pastel Blue and Pastel Yellow
Zig Wing of Stella Glitter Pen - Clear

I started by adding some extra lines to the unicorns tail with a copic liner as I wanted to make the tail multicoloured! The image was coloured with copics and fuzzy cut it out. I blended some pastel yellow and blue chalk ink onto some white card and die-cut a rectangle panel out using blueprints 20. I printed the sentiment, die-cut some clouds and mounted them onto the bottom section of my panel. The unicorn was also mounted using foam dots. I die-cut some tiny stars from pink designer paper and white glitter card using a die from ME basic set and randomly added them to the scene. Using SSS fog cardstock I die-cut the large scallop rectangle from blueprints 20. I then adhered my scene to the scallop rectangle before mounting it onto the card base. I added some wink of stella to the clouds and to the unicorns tail and mane.

Swinging By to Say Hi

Hi Peeps,

I hope you're having a great weekend.  I've had a nice relaxed start and was able to craft today which has been awesome.  The card I made today is for Gerda Steiners Progressive Challenge.  I haven't been able to  play along for months so was really happy that I managed to get a card done in time to play along this month.

Supplies:
Simon Says Stamp Dies - Stitched Squares
MFT Die-namics - Wild Greenery
MFT Die-namics - tag Builder Blueprints 4
Memory Box Dies - Puffy Clouds
Papertrey Ink Impression Plate - Linen
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Bazzill Vellum - 40lb White
Natural Twine
Button from Stash

I coloured this adorable monkey with my copics and also lightly coloured in the area around him. To create the frame I first used a linen impression plate on a piece of  desert storm cardstock and then die-cut a square from the centre using a SSS square die. I die-cut several leaves from white cardstock and coloured them with my copics. I arranged the leaves between the image and the frame.  I also die-cut some puffy clouds from white vellum and added them to the scene. I generated the sentiment on the computer and die-cut it out. I adhered it to the other frame and then added a button from my stash. I mounted the entire scene onto a my card base. I hope you like it.

Hang in There

Hi There,

Yipee, it's Friday which means the weekend is nearly here :) I'm excited that I should (hopefully) have some spare time to craft tomorrow - maybe I might even get another card posted :)

Today I would like to share a Whimsie Doodles creation that was inspired by both Cupcake  Inspirations Challenge 357 and the current sketch challenge over at the The Paper Players.
I have this thing for ladybugs and love red and black together so was excited to play along.  We have a couple of fantastic ladybug images in the Whimsie Doodles store and the one I used for my card today is a freebie! The image is called Hang in There and can be found here.

Here's my card.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Hang in There
Papetrey Ink Impression Plate - Linen
Lil' Inker Design Dies - Stitched Mats Long and Skinny Rectangles
MFT Die-namics - Tag Builder Blueprints 4
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circle Stax
Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad - Hip Hip Hooray
MFT Stamps Paper pack - Dots and Stripes Neutral
Ranger Enamel Accents - Black
Ranger Glossy Accents
Red Jewellery String

I coloured the image in with my copics and added some glossy accents to his nose and some black enamel accents to his spots. I die cut the image with a stitched circle.  I embossed the card base with a linen impression plate and then adhered some green, red and black scrap pieces of paper to the left hand after adding some red string.  The sentiment was computer generated and die-cut out.

CAS Flower Card

Hi Friends,

I have finally been able to make a non-DT card after a extremely long hiatus from crafting! I can't believe that in the last five months I have only made a few DT cards! Life definitely got in the way as did a complete loss of creativity.  Anyway, I made the time to make a card yesterday (albeit a CAS one!) with a few challenges in mind in order to try and get back on the crafting wagon!

My card today was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and the fabulous colours at Color Throwdown 389.

I wanted to move away from all the cute images I have been using lately so pulled out one of my favourite flower stamp sets.  I used my copics to colour the images in and die-cut them out.  The sentiment in from a mini word stamp set I have had for years and I have no idea where I got it from - sorry.
Supplies:
Papertrey Ink - Doodlie-Do Stamps
Papertrey Ink - Doodlie-Do Die Collection
Simon Says Stamp - Lots of Dots Stamp Set
MFT Die-namics - Pierced Square Stax
Sweet Shoppe Digital Paper - M Bennett Worn Out
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Doll Pink
Pretty Posh Sequins - 4mm Clear
Basic Grey Enamel Dots - Orange
Jewellery String - Green

This card also fits the current theme over at the Curtain Call Challenge which is Simplicity, so I would like to link my card up there too.

Thanks so much for popping by,

It's a Boy Thing!

Hi Friends and Happy Hump Day!

It's Whimsie Doodles inspiration time once again and today I challenged myself with a masculine make! I don't know about you but I find male themed cards really hard to create. Thankfully there are some great male images in the Whimsie Doodles Store which make the job just a little bit easier!

For this card I coloured up Hoodie Jayson, a perfect image for a teenage boy card. He reminds me of me so much of brothers when they were teenagers - hood always up and hands in pockets!

 Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps - Hoodie Jayson
Paper Smooches Stamps - Sentiment Sampler
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Reversible - Harlequin - discontinued
Simon Says Stamp Cardstock - Smoke
KaiserCraft 6" Paper Pad - Rewind Collection
Simon Says Stamp Ink - Smoke
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
American Crafts Amy Tangerine Ribbon Pack - Light Grey Chevron
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Red, White and Blue Stars

I coloured Jayson up with my copics and fuzzy cut him out.  I cut a panel of smoke cardstock and adhered some designer paper to the bottom section. I brushed some smoke ink along the sides before adding a strip of grey chevron ribbon. I stamped the sentiment in black ink onto white cardstock and adhered it to the panel. I then mounted the image onto the panel with foam pads. I embossed the front of my card and then mounted the panel onto the card front. I added a couple of blue enamel stars to finish. I hope you like him.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day.

Rainbow Feista

Hi There,

It's time for a new monthly challenge over at Whimsie Doodles and we have a colour theme this month...which is awesome, I love these rainbow colours.

For my card I used this digi stamp set called Fiesta Kids. I associated Fiesta and sombrero's with bright cheerful colours so I thought these images would be absolutely perfect :) I decided to go with image with the sombrero, I just couldn't resist colouring up that hat!

Supplies;
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamps - Fiesta Kids
El Tendedero Digital Papers - Birthday Party
Sweet Shoppe Designs Julie Billingsley - Dreams Come True
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Ladybug, Limeade and Bumblebee
Red ribbon and Red Star Button - from stash

I coloured the image up with my copics and added some enamel dots to opposite colours.  I layered the background papers up as shown. All the bits I used were from my scrap pile - I love it when that happens. I adhered a piece of red ribbon around the centre of the card and then mounted on my image. I added the sentiment and a red star button to finish it off.  Nice and easy and very, very bright :)  I have to say I think this is the most colourful card I have made :) I hope you like it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thanks so much for popping by. Make sure you pop over to Whimsie Doodles blog to the see the awesome makes my teamies made.

Have a great day.
