Prehistoric

Hi Friends,

I finally managed to finish my card and just in the nick of time for the MFT sketch challenge.  Phew! Bubs and housework aren't giving me much time to craft and it has taken me three days to put this card together!

This is my second card recently featuring a dinosaur. I love these critters, they are perfect images for masculine cards, which I always struggle with.  This time I have used the awesome stamp set 'Prehistoric Fun' from MFT. Don't you just love the sentiment?!

Supplies:
MFT Stamps - Prehistoric Fun
MFT Die-namics - Prehistoric Fun
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Standard Large Circles
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Circle Stax
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Fishtail Flag Stax
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Basic Edges
MFT Die-namics - Grassy Hills
Simple Stories 6x6 Paper Pad- Sn@p Color Vibe
Ranger Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Bon Bon
Ranger Glossy Accents
Wooden Star - from stash

I coloured the dinosaur with my copics and added some glossy accents to his spots. I mounted him onto the scene using a different depths of foam pads to give the scene more dimension.  The sky was created with sponged tumbled glass ink and I used some patterned paper and green card stock to create the grass.  I created the brown frame by using two dies - a larger stitched circle and a small circle die. I kept the stitched theme with both the edging and the flag.

Keep in Touch

Hi there,

It's been another fast weekend and I haven't got half my 'to do' list done! Thankfully though, I did manage to finish this card, and if my wee girl sleeps this evening, I might even get some colouring done :)

My card today features 'Texting Abby', who is one of three new releases this month over at Whimsie Doodles. The layout is based on the clean sketch by Jen at Freshly Made Sketches. It's great to be able to play along again.

Here is my card.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Texting Abby
MFT Cling Rubber Stamps - Circle Scribbles
Lil' Inker Designs Die Set - Anytime Tags
MFT Die-namics - Fishtail Flags Layers Stax
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
MFT 6x6 Paper Pack - Fresh Squeezed Chevron
My Minds Eye 6x6 Paper Pad - Everyday Fair
MFT Premium Dye Ink - Berrylicious
Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa
Doodlebug Design Sprinkles - Blue Jean Assortment
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Marshmallow 4mm
Naturals Hemp Cord Mix 1mm
Ribbon from stash

I coloured the image in with my copics - believe it or not her hair was supposed to be blonde but I made a complete mess of it so had to go darker to salvage it!  I fussy cut her out and mounted it onto a tag. I had extended the length of the tag by adding some desert storm cardstock to the bottom and grounded the image with a scrap of blue designer paper.  To the card base I added some MFT chevron paper. I then adhered a smaller piece of white card which I had stamped with circle scribbles stamp and blue ink. I stamped the sentiment in rich cocoa ink and die-cut it out using a fishtail flag.

Dino-mite Birthday Wishes

Hi there,

It's been such a long, long time since I've had any time to craft for fun. Life with my wee 7 month old girl is busy and she doesn't like to sleep, so getting me time is virtually impossible.  She did however give me an evening at the weekend so out came the crafting goodies :)  Even though I've had no crafty time for the best part of a year that hasn't stopped me buying supplies and taking advantage of sales!! My stamp collection has grown........alot......and they have been patiently waiting to get inked up!

I have a severe lack of masculine cards so decided to ink up the MFT 'You're Rawr-some' stamp set first and got the opportunity to play along with My Favourite Things Sketch Challenge. Yipee :) Here is the sketch.

And here is my take on it:

Supplies:
  • MFT Stamps - You're Rawr-some
  • MFT Die-namics - You're Rawr-some
  • MFT De-namics - Radial Stitched Stax
  • MFT Die-namics - Grassy Hills
  • Papertrey Ink Impression Plate - Linen
  • MFT 6x6 Paper Packs - Tribal Prints
  • Doodlebug Designs Paper Pad - Sunkissed
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass
  • Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
  • Naturals Hemp Cord 1mm
I took a piece of white card the same size as card front and cut out a partial circle using the a radial stitched circle. I then run this card through my die-cutting machine with an impression plate. I added a strip of grass, designer paper and some twine. Before mounting the new card front on the base  I sponged a blue sky on the base using tumbled glass distress ink.  I coloured in the dinosaur with my copics and used the co-ordinating die to cut it out.  I mounted it into the scene.  The sentiment was stamped in tuxedo black ink.

Awesome Ballerina

Hi friends,

I disappear for months and then you get two cards in two days :)  This is probably a one off special though!

Today we have a new monthly challenge at Whimsie Doodles.  Our theme this month is Anything Goes with the optional twist of 'Anything Work or Career Related'. I decided to use this very cute Ballerina digi and I couldn't help but put her in a pink tutu - very feminine!

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Ballerina
MFT Stamps - Background Lace
MFT Stamps - Geometric Greenery
MFT Die-namics - Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames
MFT Die- namics - Button Quartet
Neenah Cardstock - Desert Storm
Stampendous Embossing Powder - White
Tsukineko Versamark Stamp Pad - Watermark
Memento Ink - Tuxedo Black
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Fresh Mint 4mm
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins - Sparkling Clear 4mm
Wink of Stella Glitter Pen - Clear
Ribbon and Twine from stash

For the background I stamped a piece of white cardstock with a lace stamp and watermark ink.  I then heat embossed with white embossing powder and added some green ribbon.  I mounted this onto desert storm cardstock. The image was framed using MFT stitched rectangle scallop frame and mounted onto the background.  I added some sequins and wink of stella to the image.  The buttons were die-cut and coloured to match her outfit and secured with some twine. The sentiment, from Geometric Greenery stamp set, was stamped in black ink mounted onto the frame.

Toadly into You

Hi there,

It's been a very, very long time; crafting has taken a back seat these days as bubs and family demand all my time and attention.  I've been itching though to get back into it and I finally got a chance to do some colouring the other night - I had nearly forgotten how to do it!

I had been wanting to colour up this digi called Toadly for quite sometime and Valentine's day gave me a good reason too!  I love this guy in his toad suit and the punny sentiment which comes with the image. You can find this image here in the Whimsie Doodles Store.

Supplies:
Whimsie Doodles Digital Stamp - Toadly
Crafts-Too Embossing Folder - Hearts
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 24
MFT Die-namics - Blueprints 29
MFT 6x6 Paper Pack - Dots and Stripes Fresh
Core'dinations Cardstock - Midnight
Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Limeade
Wink of Stella Glitter Pen - Clear

Copics:
Heart: R22, 24, 29, 46
Toad Suit: YG23, YG25, G24, G28, YG01, Y13, Y15

I kept the layout very simple. Having been away from crafting for so long has resulted in absolutely no mojo at all!  It's like I have forgotten how to put a card together.  I'm hoping it comes back soon.

Here's hoping I get more crafting done in 2017!
